If you are a Joss Whedon fan and missed his interview on NPR's Fresh
Air on Thursday (and if you have a regular job, you probably did), you
can catch it as a free podcast here
or on iTunes. From this I learned:
- Joss's dad wrote for Benson and Golden Girls.
- Joss's granddad wrote for The Dick Van Dyke Show.
- Joss wrote Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog with two brothers and a future sister-in-law.
- The Dr. Horrible DVD comes with a musical commentary. Not
a commentary on the music, but a completely new set of songs about the
show, including one sung by Joss himself. He's not a terrible singer,
it turns out.
I also learned, while listening to this podcast, that I need to run
more. This was my first run since snow boarding last weekend and I
could still feel sore snow-boarding muscles.

Ahem.
That's Joss, not Josh. His new series, Dollhouse, started recently, did you see it? I think it has potential, but I will wait a couple more episodes to see if it hooks me.February 15 2009, 23:51:49 UTC 3 years ago
Re: Ahem.
Supposedly the original premier of Dollhouse was too intense or something so it was broken up into seven episodes and the seven episodes still don't have all the backstory that the original premier had. And the TV guys want to make sure we get excitement and action in every episode, too, not just fascinating backstory. It will just take a while, which is fine so long as they get enough time to actually get to it all (unlike "Firefly"). At least they're not making him show the episodes out of order. Reviewers say the new 7-episode version is just as good, perhaps more suspenseful, than the original version.I hope this actress can pull it off. She did her first role very well and the second one not quite so well. Don't love anybody yet except the black guy, who is going to get in big trouble one day. I suspect I might like the treatment operator later, though he's awfully creepy now. I think he'll figure out things can't go as well as he hopes they're going, and then he'll be in trouble, too. Who knows the motives of the big boss? I don't think doing good is one of them. I do think making money is one of them. But I mostly think she has ulterior motives which I find difficult to fathom.

Re: Ahem.
I am so embarrassed. Hopefully not too many of my friends saw this before I fixed it. Thanks for the correction.February 16 2009, 17:35:21 UTC 3 years ago
Re: Ahem.
It's understandable, I'm sure you have met more guys named Josh and none named Joss.Anonymous
